An Unusual Continental Combined Spear And 20-Bore Percussion Pistol
Mid-19th Century

With point of stiff diamond section mounted on a cross-bar of circular section, the latter with bud-shaped terminals and acting against a spring on each side to automatically fire the pistol via a bar moving within the under-rib and engaging with the trigger, faceted barrel, box-lock action, trigger-guard, and steel ramrod retained by a spring, on tapering socket mounted on a tapering bamboo shaft, the latter lacquered brown and set with iron studs, and with turned and moulded brass knob-shaped terminal also forming a counterweight
46 cm. head, 206.5 cm. overall
