With tapering fullered blade (some pitting) double-edged at the point, the forte etched and gilt along one side with crowned 'GR' cypher between foliage, and on the other with a martial trophy between foliage, regulation ormolu hilt with double shell-guard, knuckle-guard and faceted pommel cast and chased with foliage, swelling rear quillon, and grip bound with twisted silver wire, in original black leather scabbard (some wear and loss of finish) with shaped linear engraved brass mounts and two rings for suspension, the locket with frog-hook on one side (gilding worn overall); together with a reproduction Bowie knife, the blade stamped 'R&R Middleton, Sheffield' on one side of the ricasso, silvered mounts including horsehead pommel, and natural staghorn grip (2)
