Two 1804 Pattern Naval Cutlasses
Early 19th Century

The first with tapering single-edged blade (some pitting), steel hilt with figure of eight guard numbered '40', and ribbed brass grip cut with vertical grooves; the second of similar form, the blade (light pitting overall) with indistinct crowned 'GR' on one side of the forte, and ribbed steel grip with vertical grooves (both hilts pitted) (2)
