A Balkan 10-Bore Miquelet-Lock Gun (Džerferdar)
Late 17th/18th Century, Boka Kotorska Or Fojnica

With heavy Turkish two-stage russet sighted barrel with sighting flat over most of its length to the flared muzzle of octagonal section, the latter grooved for two brass fore-sights and with a silver filigree band behind, plain breech with silver filigree band (worn) and chiselled with a symmetrical panel of arabesques beyond, arched single-aperture back-sight, scroll engraved tang, characteristic border engraved lock, ebonised full stock (some worming and minor damage), butt of ovoidal form with punched and incised line decoration, russet mounts comprising a band around the butt and with a pointed extension along the comb, border engraved trigger-guard, slotted fore-end band and fore-end cap also forming the ramrod-entry, suspension rings, and later iron-tipped ramrod
