With curved single-edged blade of finely watered wootz steel gold-damascened along the back over much of its length with foliated Arabic inscriptions in thuluth, the forte on the same side with a gold-damascened cartouche containing calligraphy, and on the other with a similar foliate cartouche, hilt comprising foliate engraved quillon-block with pointed langets and tapering quillons each with trefoil-shaped terminal, faceted grip with wire binding at the base, chased with flowering foliage along the flat on each side and set with three silver florets along both sides, foliate engraved grip-strap, and beaked pommel-cap engraved en suite and with a small ring for a tassel, in original wood-lined silver scabbard set with a roped medial line of beadwork between borders of embossed and chased running flower-heads, and suspension mounts each with border en suite and carrying a ring for suspension
