A Turkish Yataghan
Dated 1240 A.H. Corresponding To 1824 A.D.

Similar to the last, the blade silver-damascened with foliate panels on each side, the panels on one side dated and inscribed with two of the names of God in thuluth, and on the other with a Turkish poem, shaped gilt-copper mount over the forte embossed with flower-heads and pellets, hilt with basal mount and grip-strap en suite, and large 'eared' dark horn grip-scales, in its wooden scabbard covered in black leather with brass wire seam along the inside, white-metal locket (repaired) embossed with scrolling foliage, deep silver chape embossed and chased with scrolling foliage along both sides, and monster-head terminal
