Of steel, with flat bevelled plate shaped beneath the exposed wheel and with slightly curved tail with rounded point, baluster-shaped retaining bracket and pan secured by screws, sprung sliding pan-cover, and plain cock with faceted baluster neck (some rust patination); together with a reproduction wheel-lock mechanism for a pistol in 17th century style, the flat bevelled plate engraved with an heraldic lion and starburst on the tail, exposed wheel with foliate retaining bracket, sprung sliding pan-cover with release button, and pierced cock engraved as a scaled monster (2)
