With curved double-edged blade with medial ridge along its entire length on both sides, the forte on one side gold-damascened with foliate panels containing a Turkish couplet in praise of Eyub Sultan, the Chief Saint of Istanbul in thuluth, and on the other with the name 'Alemdar' and bestowing good wishes in thuluth, and waisted hilt of heavy silver retaining traces of gilding and cast and chased with Eastern trophies of arms within garlands, in original wood-lined silver scabbard decorated en suite, the chape (old repair) with pierced foliate finial
