Six North African Snaphaunce Mechanisms For Guns
Probably 19th Century

Each of characteristic form, the first with two circular brass-lined maker's marks on the plate, and gold-damascened circular pan terminal, top jaw and screw; the second struck twice with scissor-shaped maker's mark in a rectangle on the plate and once on the arm of the steel, and with a brass-lined mark on the circular pan terminal; the third of heavy construction and retaining some silvering on the bolster; the fourth with circular link between the bolster and steel-spring and with button-shaped pan terminal; the fifth with similar pan terminal (some pitting overall); and the last of crude construction (surface rust overall) (6)
