A Medieval Great Sword Of Oakeshott Type XIIIa
Late 13th/Early 14th Century

In fine excavated condition, with broad tapering blade with bevelled double edge and shallow central fuller over two thirds of its length on each side, hilt comprising straight quillons of octagonal section, long flat tang tapering beneath the pommel, thick wheel pommel with chamfered edges, and blackened finish overall
99.7 cm. blade, 121.5 cm. overall
