A Sword Of Viking Type, Oakeshott's Type XI
12th/13th Century

In excavated condition, with broad tapering double-edged blade with wide central fuller over most of its length on both sides, the fuller on one side at the forte incised with a cross potent, hilt comprising straight tapering quillons of rectangular section swelling at the tang, flat tapering tang, and large Brazil-nut pommel (some flaking)
83 cm. blade, 98.5 cm. overall
