A series of three legal tracts in a fine binding from the library of Jacques-Auguste de Thou, stamped with the arms of de Thou and his second wife Gasparde la Chastre, who he had married after the death of his first wife Marie de Barbançon-Cany in 1601.
Provenance: Jacques-Auguste de Thou (1553-1617, statesman and historian) and his second wife Gasparde la Chastre, binding; "Sale by Evans March 1836", pencil note inside upper cover; unidentified early twentieth century bookseller, priced £9.9s.
