The bibliographer Fabricius' copy of this historical and biographical survey of scientists, artists and instrument-makers working in Nuremberg. Illustrations include Behaim's 1492 globe, musical and scientific instruments, and Gothic statuary and fountains.

Provenance: Johann Albert Fabricius (1668-1736, author of Bibliotheca Latina, 1697, and its Greek partner work, 1705), ink ownership inscription and shelfmark at foot of title; probably his sale, Hamburg, beginning 17 February 1738; Earls of Macclesfield, bookplate dated 1860, blindstamped arms on first three leaves; Sotheby's, 4 November 2004, lot 653.
