Footnotes
First editions of two works by Niccolò Massa (1489-1569), professor of anatomy at Venice. Liber de Morbo Gallico is one of the earliest works published on syphilis, including a descripton of the neurological manifestations of the disease. The second work is devoted to infectious diseases, including observations on recent typhus epidemics.
Provenance: (Second work) Baptista Zucculi, sixteenth century ownership inscription on title, with further note on front free endpaper; Professor Pietro Tonelli, stamp on title.
