A mahogany two day marine chronometer

Barrauds, London number 712
The three part case of characteristic design, with brass handles and escutcheons, the bowl supported by gimbals and fitted with an integral winder with hinged thumb pieces, the signed and numbered 3 inch Roman dial with subsidiary seconds at XII and state of wind aperture above VI, the aperture cut through an applied disk, possibly a later improvement made by Barrauds, the signed and numbered chain fusee movement with maintaining power, bimetallic 'z' balance, blued steel helical spring and Earnshaw type detent escapement, the backplate signed 'Barraud's, Cornhill, London 712' 17cm (6.75in)
