An early 19th century French mahogany month going striking table regulator

M. LePaute, Paris, dated 1814/15
The characteristic design with stepped and moulded entablature, over glazed side panels, the front and back doors each fitted with a concealed spring catch, the signed 6.5 inch white enamel Roman and Arabic dial with gilt lyre hands and centre seconds, within a stiff leaf moulded bezel, the signed and dated drum movement with shaped lower edges, pinwheel escapement and outside countwheel mounted to the backplate, the substantial gridiron pendulum with lenticular brass bob, knife edge suspension and regulation via a sliding weight attached to the rod, the backplate signed 'M. LePaute, a Paris, 14+3.' 52cm (20.5in)
