Footnotes
James L. was the son of James Clair Flood (October 25, 1826 - February 21, 1889), one of the four who brought in "The Big Bonanza" of the Comstock Lode, and who actually controlled its real and tangible assets.
His San Francisco brownstone townhouse, the James C. Flood Mansion, located at 1000 California Street, is now the Pacific-Union Club. Linden Towers, located in Menlo Park, was his second home in the Bay Area, and was torn down in 1936.
James C. Flood's "Big Bonanza" partners were William S. O'Brien, James Graham Fair and John William Mackay.
