signed Wightman, London, second quarter 18th century
The case with arched hood and plain columns above the arched long door and paneled plinth with molded skirting, 12-inch dial with signature boss in the arch flanked by dolphin spandrels, urn and scroll spandrels enclosing a roman and arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lis half hour marks, subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture in the matted center, later hour hand, two train movement with four knopped pillars, anchor escapement, rack striking the hours on a bell, iron rod pendulum, two brass clad weights, winding crank
