A Louis XVI ormolu mantel clock
Germain Dubois à Paris, last quarter 18th century
Raised on separate gilt mounted white marble plinth supporting a similarly mounted ebony veneered base, the circular case flanked by lions' masks, signed white enamel roman and arabic numeral dial, pierced gilt hands, the signed movement with anchor escapement, thread suspended pendulum, striking the hour and half hour on a bell by means of a crossed out count wheel.
