Footnotes
This cartouche is engraved with the arms of FALKENER / FAUKENER / FALCONER.
The spelling depends on the date of the manuscript source of information:
Fawkoner (15th century); Falconor (Lord Mayor of London 1414); Faulconer of Hampshire (17th century). The design is always the same although there are sometimes black/blue color variations.
