NAMIKI: Playing Cards Lacquer and Enamel Bridge Pencil by Ritsuzan, 1930s
Uncommon Namiki maki-e bridge pencil, created in Japan for the Western market, 1930s. Conical form with rounded stainless steel base, ornamented with red, white and black enamel on black urushi ground, depicting an ace of diamonds and two other cards, twist action mechanism, base inscribed "NAMIKI / Made In / Japan". Measures 9.5cm. Signed by Ritsuzan Yamayaki.
