MONTBLANC: Meisterstück L139 "Long Window" Fountain Pen, c.1940
A Montblanc classic, greatly prized by vintage pen aficionados, and the pen that inspired the Hemingway Writers Series design. This was Montblanc's top of the line pen when it was introduced in 1938, and was originally retailed for the lordly sum of 45 Reichsmarks (approx. $20 US). German, circa 1940, black celluloid cap and barrel, long ink window, two white and one yellow cap bands, piston filler, large white metal 4810 nib (possibly palladium), size medium, cut at a very subtle oblique. 130mm. Rare in this size. Endpiece imprinted "D.R.P. 652405 / L 139 / OB." Generally excellent, piston tends to stick unless endpiece is turned slowly.
