MONTBLANC: No. 4 Octagonal Meander & Barleycorn Silver Safety Fountain Pen, c.1920s
No. 4 safety filler, silver barrel and cap with meander and barleycorn pattern, black hard rubber endpiece and captop, 14K gold #4 nib, good flexibility, writes beautifully. 117mm. Very good condition, a few small dings, safety mechanism works smoothly, cork seal is tight.

"An early Montblanc silver overlay pen with typical machine-worked pattern exclusive to Montblanc. I know of over 30 different Montblanc overlay patterns from this era; this example is exemplary, with wonderful craftsmanship, and quite difficult to find in such good condition."
