MONTBLANC: Meisterstück No. 20 Push-Knob Filler in Coral Red, 1930s
No. 20 Meisterstück in coral red celluloid, gold-plated teardrop clip and two cap rings, push-knob filler, rubber sac replaced, 18K gold #20 nib, right oblique, round vent, medium flex. Generally excellent condition.
Jens Rösler comments:
"Montblanc introduced the No. 20 coral red Meisterstück with push-knob mechanism in 1929. The first ones produced were hard rubber, and in the 1930s the material was switched to celluloid. This pen was made in Germany, although a similar coral red Meisterstück was produced in Denmark, but with a slightly conical cap and a different nib feed than the German-made model. German coral red No. 20 Meisterstücks are about five times scarcer than the Danish versions."
Provenance: From the Jens Rösler Montblanc Collection.
-Wallrafen, Stefan & Jens Rösler. Collectible Stars I: Montblanc 1908-1947. [Cologne: 2014], pp. 92-93. The current lot is the actual pen pictured in the book.
