MONTBLANC: Meisterstück No. 20 Push-Knob Filler in Azurite Blue, c.1930
No. 20 Meisterstück in azurite blue, gold-plated teardrop clip and two cap rings, push-knob filler, imprint clear and legible, 18K gold #20 nib in size B, round vent, slight flex. An excellent and rare pen in superb condition.
Jens Rösler comments: "Meisterstück pens of this vintage are rare and highly prized by collectors. Azurite blue models are especially rare; the ratio of azurite blue to the more commonly seen black models is approximately 1:10. The condition of this example is simply wonderful. After 80 years it is still near mint and fully operational, with no brassing to rings and clip and a newly replaced rubber sac. It is estimated that 75 examples exist worldwide, of which perhaps ten or fewer are in such excellent condition."
Provenance: From the Jens Rösler Montblanc Collection.
-Wallrafen, Stefan & Jens Rösler. Collectible Stars I: Montblanc 1908-1947. [Cologne: 2014], pp. 92-93.
