MONTBLANC: Rare No. 6 Large Four-Aspect Dragon Toledo Gold Overlay Safety Pen, c.1925
Large Montblanc Toledo overlay safety pen with four diamond-shaped vignettes, each engraved with winged dragon, further embellished with foliate motifs and arabesques, bordered with Greek key motif. Large Montblanc Toledo pens are exceedingly rare, with only a handful known to exist. This model is not listed in any references and may be the only surviving example.
Overlay not hallmarked and presumed to be 14K or 18K rolled gold. Ball-ended clip engraved with sinuous pattern, white celluloid captop star (some crazing), cap imprinted "4810 / Montblanc Meisterstück" with insignia. 15K gold #25 nib, medium right oblique, safety mechanism functions smoothly. 125mm. Very good or better.
