A pair of eastern slotted tongs
probably Persian, 19th century

The 11 inch steel tongs molded with heart-shaped tip, the shafts with simple geometric decoration above a flat, slotted panel fitted with brass tightening bead. Grip with fluted bolster and elephant ivory gripscales.
