An unusual south Indian dagger with figural hilt
probably Goa, late 17th or 18th century

The 8 inch flamberge crucible blade showing a strong watered pattern, the base with two pierced scrolls. One-piece elephant ivory grip, the guard in the form of a lion mask flanked by ram's heads; grip in the form of a female figure with clasped hands, Indian features and wearing a long dress and a shawl covering her head.
Condition: Blade showing some minor spotting and areas of wear to wootz pattern. Hilt with some age cracks.
