A late 19th century carved walnut and ivory inlaid open armchair, designed by Ludwig Loeffler and made by T.E. Distelhorst
in the Gothic style, the padded back with pierced tracery headed by dentils and crocket finials, the padded arms with conforming tracery and crocket carving terminating in a Knight's head and a female mask with dragon supports, the sprung seat on turned gothic column front legs with castors, bearing the stamp to the underside of the seatrail 'ENTWORFEN VON LUDWIG. LOEFLER. IN LONDON. ANGEFERTIGT VON T.E. DISTELHORST. IN KARLSRUHE BADEN' together with the dates '1896 & 1897', 69cm wide, 62cm deep, 113cm high (27in wide, 24in deep, 44in high).
