A French late 19th century gilt-bronze, Corozo nut, red, black and gold lacquer chinoiserie inkwell by Boin-Taburet, Paris
the pierced foliate carved Corozo nuts on a lacquer base depicting chinese figures, on acorn feet, inscribed to the reeded surround BOINTABURET with the mark GB for Georges Boin, 13cm wide, 12cm deep, 10.5cm high (5in wide, 4 1/2in deep, 4in high).

The Maison Boin-Taburet (also known as Bointaburet) was formed circa 1880 by jeweller Emile Taburet and his son-in-law, antique dealer Georges Boin. They worked together for twenty years, winning a gold medal at the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle. In 1900, Boin left the firm to form another company, called "Boin et Henry orfèvres."
