A late 19th century Austrian enamel and silver-gilt mounted timepiece

by Herman Ratzersdorfer, Vienna circa 1885
The four silver-gilt corner pilaster mounts topped with mythical beasts, the domed cover painted with a scene of Pompey's head being presented to Caesar, the sides with scenes of gods against an unusual gold ground with Jupiter over the enamelled Roman dial, height 11cm.
