Oval scalloped form with pierced double scroll handles, the bowl chased in high relief depicting a duck swimming among reeds, chased and prick-dot engraved foliate border, length handle to handle 15.5cm; together with a 17th century German silver wine taster by Balthasar Haydt, Augsburg, circa 1665-70, oval scalloped form with double scroll handles, the bowl chased in high relief with a flower, with leaf-embellished beaded border, length handle to handle 13.5cm. Balthasar Haydt was born in Seefeld. In 1645 he became a master goldsmith in Augsburg and Warden of the Mint, and married in the same year. He was Geschaumeister between 1651 and 1654 and a member of the High Council. He died in 1680.
