by Johann Reinhold Muhl, Nuremberg, circa 1680, with later Austrian tax marks and finial
The waisted tapering bowl embossed and chased with graduated lobes engraved with flowers, the lower stem modelled as a cherub holding a palm frond in one hand and supporting bands of scroll-work on his head with the other, the detachable lobed cover engraved with flower-heads and surmounted by a two handled vase finial issuing a bouquet of flowers among scroll-work, all raised on a circular lobed base similarly engraved, height 34.5cm, weight 9oz.
