Of pale straw tint, the bell bowl set on a slender hollow baluster stem between mereses, over a wide conical foot, 15.5cm high

This glass is illustrated by Frides and Kitty Laméris, Venetiaans en Façon de Venise Glas 1500-1700 (1991), pp. 52-53, cat. 9. Very similar glasses can be found in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, accession no. 91.1.1459, and illustrated by Thomas Dexel, Gebrauchsglas (1977), p. 124, pl. 129. Glasses with similarly shaped bowls but slightly different stems were sold by Christie's London, 28 March 2000, lots 151 and 152. Glasses with very similar stems but with different bowls were also sold in this sale, lots 129-132 and 136-138, and are also illustrated by Hugh Tait, The Golden Age of Venetian Glass (1979), p. 55, cat. 57, and by Anna-Elisabeth Theuerkauff-Liederwald, Venezianisches Glas der Kunstsammlungen der Veste Coburg (1994), p. 258, cat. 234.
