the double-edged tapering steel blade of slightly curved form with central ridge, the raised forte with cusped edges terminating in a bud finial, the carved ivory hilt with pommel in the form of a horse head with bridle and beaded detail around the neck, the grip with elongated panels terminating in mihrabs at either end, the lower hilt in the form of an acanthus spray, the leaves curling at the edges to form the quillons; the wood hilt clad in red velvet with steel mount to tip
