A Turkish Silver-Gilt Mounted Jambiya

With curved finely watered blade gold-damascened along the waved cutting-edge along both sides (gilding worn), the forte on one side damascened in gold with an Arabic inscription against a ground of foliate and knotted motifs, and on the other with a design of symmetrical arabesques, and waisted hilt of oval section (minor damage and repairs) embossed and chased with flower-heads and trelliswork against a finely punched ground, in original wood-lined scabbard decorated en suite with the hilt, the chape pierced with foliage, and retaining most of its original gilding
