A French 1822 Model Cavalry Officer's Sword, A French 1845/55 Model Infantry Officer's Sword, And A Continental Officer's Sword Of French 1822 Model Type
All 19th Century

The first with bright fullered blade double-edged at the point and etched with Chatellerault manufactory details dated 1844 along the back at the forte, regulation brass hilt with half-basket guard sparsely cast with foliage and with three rounded bars swept-up to join the knuckle-guard, pommel-cap, and ribbed fishskin-covered grip bound with twisted brass wire, in original steel scabbard with suspension rings; the second with slightly curved fullered blade double-edged at the point, the forte on one side etched with a panel containing indistinct manufacturer's details in gothic script, regulation brass hilt with half-basket guard cast, pierced and chased with scrolling foliage, pommel-cap, and ribbed horn grip (wire binding missing), in original leather scabbard (open along the seam) with brass locket and chape, the former with suspension ring; the last with fullered tapering blade, and hilt of similar form to the first, in original steel scabbard with ring for suspension (3)
