An Indian 40-Bore Matchlock Gun
18th Century

With twist russet sighted barrel of slender tapering form overlaid with two silver bands at the breech and behind the flared muzzle, and retained by six shaped brass bands, pan with pivoting cover, copper side-plates each with pierced upper border, hardwood full stock with slender butt inlaid with shaped ivory panels decorated with concentric circles, ivory butt en suite, line engraved ivory mount behind the breech, shaped trigger, and original ramrod with turned tip
