A Persian 32-Bore Flintlock Pistol
Early 19th Century

With twist barrel with sighting flat along most of its length, chiselled panels at the breech with indistinct barrelsmith's mark at the centre, and retained by four shaped silver barrel bands each with pierced decoration, long tang extending down the back of the butt, border engraved lock in the English manner with spurious signature, semi-rainproof pan and roller, highly figured Circassian walnut full stock with rounded butt inlaid with brass and dark horn rondels, mounts comprising engraved silver side-plate with pierced peacock head finials, silver butt-cap with pierced suspension swivel, engraved iron trigger-guard with small pineapple finial, and no provision for a ramrod
