with finely watered curved single-edged blade (cutting edge very slightly reduced, joined to the tang at the forte), the forte on one side with gold-inlaid roundel within a star and inscribed with the Basmala, a panel beyond linked by a slender line to gold-damascened arabesques at the cutting edge and inscribed with owner's name 'Yusuf' and maker's name 'Hasaki', and along the back-edge with the Qur'anic verse 'Aid is from God and victory is close', all the script in thuluth, hilt comprising brass quillon-block chased with foliage on both sides, pointed langets, and tapering quillons with bud-shaped terminals, engraved grip-strap, and rounded horn grips, in original wood-lined fishskin-covered scabbard with locket, chape and suspension mounts en suite with the quillon-block, the last each with a ring for suspension, and retaining faint traces of original gilding
