An Armenian Silver-Mounted Jambiya
19th Century

With broad curved double-edged blade (associated), and waisted dark hardwood hilt of circular section set with three linked filigree roundels on the outside of the hooked base and pommel of oval section, the top of the latter set with a filigree mount en suite, in original wood-lined silver scabbard decorated with bands and panels of filigree enriched with small diamonds and pellets, the chape bound with twisted silver wire and with bud-shaped finial, and complete with a silver suspension chain with spherical filigree terminal hung with jingles
