Three Madura Kris, And A Javanese Kris
All 19th Century

The first with tapering double-edged pattern-welded blade with characteristic gandja, cup-shaped silver mendak, and ivory Madura hilt carved and pierced in relief with foliage inhabited by a horse on each side, in its wooden scabbard with highly figured sarongan and ovoidal ivory chape; the second with waved pattern-welded blade, and Madura hilt similar to the last and involving a winged horse at the front; the third with tapering double-edged pattern-welded blade (hilt missing), in its hardwood scabbard with white-metal pendoq open along one side, and hardwood sarongan carved and pierced with scrolls and foliage; the last with thin unusually pattern-welded double-edged blade, gilt filigree mendak set with imitation cabochon rubies, and black wood hilt carved as the figure of Raksasa with foliage, in its figured wooden scabbard with carved mount and figured boat-shaped sarongan (4)
