A Cased Pair Of 28-Bore Flintlock Duelling Pistols
By Wogdon & Barton, London, Circa 1795

With rebrowned slightly swamped octagonal barrels signed in script and stamped with King's County (Offaly) Irish cencus numbers 'IK-S 1309' and '2K-S 1309' along the top flats, silver fore-sights, breeches each with a line of beadwork at the rear and gold-lined touch-hole, tangs each incorporating a back-sight and engraved with foliage involving a Britannia shield and drums, signed detented flat bevelled locks each with safety-catch, one now blued, and roller bearing on a ramp on the blued steel-spring, figured full stocks (some bruising, fore-ends split in the ramrod-channel) with swelling flat-sided butts, blued steel trigger-guards each with pineapple finial and decorated with a Britannia shield and foliage on the border engraved bow, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, blued ramrod-pipes, set triggers, original ramrods each with threaded powder-measure and iron worm, and some original blueing: in original relined and partly refitted case with loading rod, the exterior of the lid with flush-fitting brass carrying handle, London proof mark and Wogdon's barrelsmith's mask
