A Sporting Crossbow In German Late 16th Century Style
19th Century

With russet steel bow secured by slender cords also securing a russet ring for suspension, original string of twisted cord, wooden tiller hollowed for the cheek on one side and inlaid overall with engraved staghorn panels in a checkerboard pattern, white staghorn butt-plate (chipped), russet steel cranequin lugs, nut, hinged loop, swivelling safety-catch and curved trigger-lever of tapering circular section interrupted by mouldings and chiselled with a scroll, horn bolt-clip and band around the tiller, and lever for setting the nut
75 cm.
