With long slender sharply tapering blade of stiff diamond section, the forte with central fuller on each side incised 'Juanez De Tolledo (sic) in large capitals punctuated by dots, short ricasso incised on one side with a mark, an 'A', bright steel hilt comprising straight quillons each with swelling fluted tip cut with a spiral band of stylised foliage and with button terminal, knuckle-guard en suite and with central section en suite with its tip, slender arms of flattened section, cup with turned-over edge (rompepuntas) roped along its upper edge and elaborately pierced and chiselled overall with scrollwork, foliage and flower-heads (some losses), large guardapolvo pierced and chiselled en suite and centred on a rosette, associated compressed pommel incised, pierced, and chiselled with foliage, and with integral button, and spirally twist grip bound with twisted iron wire between Turk's heads
