Second Quarter Of The 18th Century
With tapering double-edged blade with central fuller on each side at the forte pierced with keyhole slots and small circles, a copper-inlaid running wolf mark beyond on one side, and the spurious date '1515' on the other, iron guard of slender rounded bars framing an S-shaped bar set sideways on both sides above a 'ram's horn', and with fretted incised saltires either side of a fretted ovoidal panel, the former each pierced with small circular holes centred on a square, the latter fluted and pierced with triangles and holes, fluted bun-shaped pommel with separate button, and swelling wooden grip (minor worming) spirally bound with twisted copper wire (some pitting overall)
