An English 'Mortuary' Hilted Backsword

With tapering blade cut with two fullers along the back over its entire length to the double-edged point, the fullers on both sides of the forte stamped 'Me Fecit' and 'Solingen' between punch marks, iron hilt comprising solid guard with fluted scrolled wrist-guard and chiselled with a symmetrical design of scrolling foliage involving a standing male figure in contemporary costume, a horseman armed with a sword, and profile busts, tapering knuckle-guard connected to two slender curved bars above two side-bars and screwed to the pommel, the side-bars each chiselled with a grotesque mask, globular pommel chiselled with foliage, and original wooden grip bound with twisted copper wire and ribbon (loose, some wear and pitting overall)
