A Continental Hunting Hanger
Second quarter Of The 18th Century, Perhaps Danish

With slender tapering double-edged blade of flattened hollowed diamond section, long rectangular ricasso hollowed along each side and etched with foliate scrollwork, steel hilt cut with faceting and flutes, comprising downbent shell-guard, recurved quillons with lobed tips, ovoidal pommel-cap with button, tapering bone grip (minor split) with raised vertical panels along each side, and moulded collar at the base with foliate finial (some wear and pitting overall)
