A Continental Hunting Hanger
18th Century, Probably Dutch

With slender sharply tapering single-edged blade (some light pitting) of hollow triangular section with the remains of a leather covering at the forte, hilt comprising recurved brass quillons (one repaired) each with spherical terminal, and tapering brown-stained ivory hilt fluted along the sides, the pommel carved in the round as a monster-head and surmounted by a brass button
