A Neapolitan Sporting Socket Bayonet
Third Quarter Of The 18th Century

With broad blade sharply tapering at the point and with border engraved central fuller on each side, the forte chiselled in bas-relief with a crowned double-headed eagle on one side, and with a lion on the other, the integral mount chiselled as a bearded male head and riveted to the white-metal socket, the latter engraved with a bird and foliate borders
